Types of membership
The IET offers two types of membership: individual membership, which is membership for one person, or group membership which is membership for businesses, associations or universities.
Group membership
With the IET’s group membership scheme, you can access all the advantages of IET membership for your team – with just one simple annual invoice.
Individual Membership
The IET has five categories of individual membership. View all of the categories and choose the one that meets your needs.
Alternatively, select the description below that applies to you the most and find out which category of membership is right for you.
- You have completed your studies and/or are currently employed;
- You are a full-time postgraduate student;
- You are a part-time postgraduate student;
- You are a full-time undergraduate;
- You are a part-time undergraduate;
- You are on an apprenticeship;
- You are retired/unemployed.
The main requirement to become a member, in any category, is that you must agree to comply with the IET Royal Charter and Byelaws and Rules of Conduct. By agreeing to these you are providing assurance of your professionalism and your ethical and moral conduct to your clients, colleagues and employers.
